the rueful dark of this night wont hide
the perfect circle that i have run
this incessant terror in the sullen tide,
the most fearful a day of night has ever been,
away from home, and apart from light

the umbra lured me into its lair,
in complete syzygies of the sun and moon,
i wrote corral hymns, and whispered them to its numinous air

a heavenly home
-now with a glowing bone-
in the night sphere

…and on the first day of night,
our tears dried,
and we were showering inside your silvery moonlight.

but the sun’s paroxysmal light, in its perennial hide,
is a sight to sail from,
and leave behind.
